Kalyani Potdar - Singer and Actress

 Kalyani Potdar Joshi, is a trained Singer and talented actress of Marathi Dramas and Film Industry. Kalyani Potdar was born to Singers Pndt. Jayaram Potdar and Mrs. Maithili Potdar. Pndt. Jayaram Potdar is a renowned Harmonium and Organ Player and He has a Lion's share in the field of Marathi Sangeet Natak. Being born to such Multi-Talented Parents Kalyani is indeed very fortunate that she received a professional training and guidance from her Family. Her grandfather Shri. Rairikar was awesome Marathi Actor. She had done her Post Graduation in Music from Delhi University and is currently doing her Sangeet Sadhana and Riyaj with Dr. Suhasini Koratkar of Bhindi Bazar Gharana.

Kalyani 's role of Janabai, wife of Sant Namdev in serial Sant Namdev that was being aired on Zee Marathi was highly appreciated by her fans. Some of her renowned Sangeet Nataks includes Sangeet Kanhopatra, Sangeet Vidhyaharan, Sangeet Murchchakatik, Sant Gora Kumbhar etc. She was very fortunate to act in more than 3000 plays of Acharya Atre's highly celebrated Natak ' To Mee Navhech'. To add her Luck, She had received playback of greatest Diva of Music, Singer Smt. Lata Mangeshkar for her role in famous Natak 'Shat Janma Shodhitanna' and the Music direction for this Drama was given by Legendary Music Director Pndt. Hrudaynath Mangeshkar.

We have also seen Kalyani Potdar in TV serieal 'Maarva' that was being aired on Doordarshan. Vighnesh Joshi was her husband in that beautiful serial based on Raaga and She had acted with Shree. Vighnesh Joshi in many Dramas. In 2005 she got married with Char Diwas Sasuche, Vaadalwat fame, talented Marathi Actor Vighnesh Joshi. Vighnesh Joshi has appeared in many Marathi and Hindi serials including Asambhav on Saam Marathi, Maziya Ya Priyala Preet Kalena aired on Zee Marathi and Maylek currently being aired on E TV Marathi. The duo has a 4 year Multi-Talented child Yash Jsohi. Yash has also inherited all the traits of his parents and grand parents.

Singer as well as Actress Kalyani says “ Its not a hard nut to crack for me, to do acting and singing. In fact, for me Music and Acting fields are not distinct, instead Singing and Acting are the two sides of same coin. And I was born in such a great family where Singing and Acting both fields are equally important”. She also adds that “ Excellent Music and Awesome Acting Roles are always appreciated by me and I will be glad to accept such projects where I could reveal and showcase my Talent, provided it should be of an Excellent Quality”. Recently, Kalyani has got an Award from Vasantrao Deshpande Pratishthan, Pune for best achieving youth performer and actor.
